On Wednesday 17th March 2010, future users of the Dagenham Library Development received an exclusive preview of the £17 million scheme. The local press were there to join in on the event and to hear the views about the new development.
Councillor Mick McCarthy, Cabinet Member for Regeneration, also joined for a tour of the new library.
The tour included a walk through and explanation of the new development which comprises a library, a One Stop Shop and retail & and affordable housing, forming the cornerstone of the Heathway’s regeneration.
Councillor McCarthy said, “This is a wonderful building with everything under one roof. I am very pleased that local people will soon be able to enjoy and take advantage of the excellent facilities that will be available to them.”
